Product Reviews ​

Product Reviews let your customers rate your products and share what they thought of them. Star ratings, written feedback, and verified purchase badges appear right on your product pages, so new shoppers can see real opinions before they decide to buy. You stay in full control, because every review passes through your own moderation queue first.

Reviews are built into FluentCart, so there is nothing extra to install. You just turn the feature on and choose the rules that fit your store.

How Reviews Work ​

Every review follows the same simple path from the customer to your product page:

  1. A customer opens one of your products and clicks the Write a Review button.
  2. A drawer slides in with a short form for a star rating and their written feedback.
  3. FluentCart checks whether they are allowed to review that product, based on your settings.
  4. The review is saved as either Approved or Pending, depending on your auto-approval setting.
  5. You review it from the Reviews screen, where you can approve it, mark it as spam, or throw it away.
  6. Once approved, the review appears on the product page and updates the product's average rating.

Enabling Product Reviews ​

Reviews ship with FluentCart, but the feature has its own switch so you can decide when your store is ready for it.

  1. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to FluentCart > Settings in the side menu.
  3. Select Product Reviews from the left-hand sidebar.
  4. Turn on the Enable Product Reviews toggle.
  5. Click the Save button.

Once the feature is on, a Reviews screen appears under the Products menu in the FluentCart top bar, next to All Products and Attributes, and your product pages can start collecting feedback.

If the feature is turned off, the Reviews screen is hidden and no review sections show on your storefront. Any reviews you already collected stay safely in your database and come straight back when you switch the feature on again.

Turning Reviews Off for a Single Product ​

The setting above controls your whole store. Some products do not suit reviews, though, so each product carries its own checkbox that can opt out of the store-wide setting.

  1. Navigate to FluentCart > Products and open the product you want to change.
  2. Find the Publishing card in the right-hand column.
  3. Tick Disable reviews for this product.
  4. Save the product.

The review section disappears from that product's page, while every other product carries on as normal. The checkbox is unticked by default, so new products collect reviews as soon as the feature is on.

Seeing Ratings at a Glance ​

Your Products list carries a Reviews column, so you can see how every product is rated without opening anything. Each row shows the average star rating and the number of reviews it is based on.
